PLEASE STALK ME

So as it turns out, I don't normally post here all that much, unless I have some new photos or some shit to show you.

HOWEVER: I do have a twitter account which I post to at least half a dozen times a day. This is seriously the best way to get a handle on what I'm currently doing, since posting all this shit to my facebook makes me look like an asshole who loves to just shit up peoples' news feeds. And posting here means I have to be sitting at my computer. Which incidentally is a pretty rare occasion these days.

So IF YOU SERIOUSLY WANT TO: you can get a long hard grasp of my daily shit at

http://twitter.com/#!/noyesalex

Yes, that IS my real name and some of my info plastered into the Internet. If I had anything to hide, I would have put more thought into it. OH WELL OH SHIT OH GOSH.

Anyway, stay unruly you heartless monsters.

ALEX.

TLDR: Follow me on twitter assholes.

Oh yeah.

And then I found this old picture of work from 2008. So enjoy...

SHITS ON THE UP AND UP

So I've landed a baller-ass job with the railway here in town. You would not believe the cheddar these motherfuckers get paid, and now I'm one of them. I'm so happy I could shit. I'll be able to stand on my own two feet again, as well as fund some new artwork, which I've really let slip in the last couple of months.

Here's hoping.

House time

Finally got myself a new pad after busting my ass 7 days a week. Which means I'll be able to shower regularly. This also means MORE UPDATES somehow. So all y'all can get right the fuck out of my grill.

Sorry, I'm totally smashed on Listerine.

LATER.

Still fixing things

I'm working with a few designer friends to decide what kind of aesthetic would work best with the site, but ultimately it's up to me to get the real work done and flex my design skills again. I've got a few side projects that I need to get the supplies for somehow, but the end result should be fine since I've still got a space to work in at the University.

Also removed comment moderation for the time being, so spam away knuckleheads. I'll have phots of the work done in the next couple of days.

James Jean

Ever since I first started getting into artwork, I was enamored with the works of illustrator James Jean. First hearing about him for his cover art on the graphic novel Fables, it was a short time later that I looked him up and was hooked. And since I've first started admiring his work it's gone through an intense series of changes, especially his non-commercial works.

His work circa 2006 was what got me started. Browsing through his gallery of work now is a real treat, and I long to be able to go to one of his shows. You should check him out at www.jamesjean.com.

Still on the streets

Well it's been just over a week since I've been living out of my car. Shit is cold as a motherfucker. I've been crashing on couches for the last few days, which is a welcome change to freezing my ass off overnight. There aren't a lot of options for the residence-challenged in this town, and even begging doesn't net much. People are more apt to buy you food, which is fine. A boy has to eat. But straight angling for change has got me around twenty bucks in seven days.

Admittedly, my "look" doesn't fit the profile of the homeless. My four hundred dollar jacket might throw people off, but I have to wear it lest I succumb to hypothermia. My twenty spot might have to get donated to the local Value Village in order to look more shabby.

The local library has been my saving grace in staving off boredom though. Being able to charge my phone while checking my e-mail has been something I've been taking for granted, besides the obvious things like showering and brushing my teeth (which still get done, just less obsessively than I'm used to). I am fortunate enough to have invested in a phone and some other small electronics that allow me to stay in touch with people, mind you I can only really take advantage of this near a hotspot. These are remarkably hard to come by in this town, but fortunately I'm located in the downtown core of my city so it isn't impossible.

But for now, I think I'll get back out there and see if I can bum some smokes off the populous. Until next time.

Out of a Home

So before the next great online diary even starts, it is cut down by poverty.

I've fallen into a very serious financial situation, and am being evicted from my home. Attempting to sell my way out of this hasn't worked, despite insanely low offerings for various electronics, including my computer. Oh well.

I'm not really all that worried about living out of my car, actually. I'm almost excited. Not that it's glamorous or enticing; I'd much rather have a bed to sleep in tomorrow as opposed to the backset of my car. But while looking for work it might be fun to see how far I can get on such minimal supplies. I'll still have internet access thanks to my phone and WiFi hotspots around town, but little else. Certainly not anything useful.

Well, as far a bummer first posts go, this was pretty heavy. It looks like this blog has taken a serious turn for the homeless, and might actually benefit from it. I'll update from a friends home or library when I can, since it looks like I'm not doing much else these days. Say nothing of surviving of course.

New

Not much to say now, as I'm currently more concerned with how this site will look as oppsed to the content. Maybe I don't have my priorities in order?
